Angola is located on the west coast of Africa bordering Namibia, the democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.

The civil war ended in 2002 and Angola has finally found peace and is realising the potential of ecotousim in economic recovery. In 2005 Angola hosted the Africa Travel Association's (ATA) Ninth Eco-Tourism Symposium. It has diverse natural resources such as a vast stretching Atlantic coastline with sandy beaches, heavily wooded mountains and a number of National Parks. I also has a rich diversity of wildlife and provides ecotourists the opportunity to learn about Angolan's rich culture, cuisine and tribal traditions.

Luanda is the capital. Portuguese is the official language spoken but Bantu and other African Languages are spoken. Religions or beliefs practised are indigenous beliefs, Roman catholic and protestant.

Angola has a tropical climate which is warm and all year round. The dry season occurs between May and October and the rainy season runs from November to April. It can get cold at night.

A Yellow fever vaccination is needed in order to enter the country and Anti -Malaria tablets are strongly recommended.
