We are an Ecuador-based tour operator that specializes in carrying out eco-tours to Southern Ecuador.
Our mission is to provide a unique and memorable travel experience and at the same time help conserve the biological and cultural diversity of Southern Ecuador.
We work directly with local NGOs, rural communities and small family-run hotels, hostels and eco-lodges. Hence all these players benefit directly by the income they receive for providing travelers with services such as food, accommodation and tour guidance. Also, we presently act as the booking agency of several unique and affordable hotels, hostels, and eco-lodges located in and around our area of operations.
Finally, we provide logistical services in Southern Ecuador in terms of accommodation, food and transportation for academic institutions around the world that wish to carry out biology field courses in this area.
With regards to our tours, we have recently developed a new eco-tour named “Transversal Eco-adventure Tour through Southern Ecuador”.
This eco-tour is unique because it takes place along a tour route that no other tour operator in Ecuador offers. Also, during this tour travelers will travel through Ecuador’s three continental geographical regions (Pacific Costal Plain Region, Highland or Andes Region and Amazon Basin Region).
Moreover, during this eco-tour tourists will visit a beach, a mangrove forest, a dry shrub forest, a paramo, a cloud forest and an upper montane rain forest. Furthermore, travelers will contribute towards the conservation of the region's biodiversity by visiting the Buenaventura and Rumi Wilco Nature Reserves and the Podocarpus National Park.
Finally, travelers will have the chance to live and learn from the Saraguro and the Shuar, two indigenous cultures of Southern Ecuador. Travelers should expect to cover a lot of terrain in a limited amount of days. Also, travelers should expect to camp out for at least one night and hike for at least one hour a day. Although we welcome people off all ages and backgrounds, we think that people that are moderately fit, open minded and that enjoy nature, will enjoy much more this eco-tour.
Lastly, it is important to mention that most places that we stay at possess rustic yet comfortable infrastructure and they do not have electric light. We believe that all these facts make of the tour experience a close encounter with nature and with the wonderful people of Ecuador. So join this tour and have the travel experience of your life!
1) Our tours include visits to the Podocarpus National Park and other
nature reserves and protected areas of Southern Ecuador.
2) We pressure our partners to adopt better environmental standards.
3) During our tours we always spread the message about the importance of taking good care of the environment.
4) During our tours we try to generate as little garbage as possible. Also, we
bring back with us all the garbage that we generate and even the garbage that
has been left on trails by other tourists.
5) We always separate our garbage into organic and inorganic garbage and deal
with them accordingly.
6) We follow as much as possible the three Rs approach (reduce, reuse and
recycle).
7) We are continuously looking to adopt better environmental standards.
