The programs will be discussed with visitors and planned according to their needs (arrival time etc.)

HORSE RIDING

A path winds along the Reserve, on the edge of the wood, with glades, scrubs and breathtaking views. You can go alone, in a group with or without a guide. Our horses are safe and therefore you don’t need to be a professional rider.

CULTURAL

Nature is not only science, observation, conservation and exploitation/exploration study. Nature is also relations with men and women who interact with Her, sounds to listen to, signals to glance at, contemplation.
That’s why we have created this kind of activities, each basically lasting one day.

- History of the territory of the Reserve and the area of Mindo as history of the Yumbos, who have been living here for centuries

- Sounds of the wood and track identification

- Tropical nature told by South American poets and writers, first of all Ecuadorians

- To contemplate to belong

- To read the lines of Nature

THE TERRITORY

The area of Mindo and the Reserve are good for several areas of analysis regarding the modifications of the landscape due to human interventions both to exploit and to recover it.
We have thought about some modules which maintain the territory where the Reserve is an object of analysis.

The modules, each lasting basically one day, are for people(naturalists, ecologists, economists etc) interested in an integrated vision of territory.

Here below are listed the modules available so far.

- Environmental and agricultural management

- Recovery of a degraded territory

- Study of watersheds

- Sustainable agricultural exploitation

- Sustainable Tourist exploitation

- Connections between laws and international financing (example Kyoto Protocol)

FOR AMATEURS

The services in this area are oriented to nature lovers, birdwatchers, amateur naturalists, students interested in deepening the ecosystem of Cloudforest.

The intervention tipology requires the booking, normally from groups, in order to adjust the contents to the requirements of the participants and to prepare the didactical material.

Below is a list of available modules.

- Module one: Ecosystem of a Cloudforest

- Module two: The main species of birds of the Cloudforest (studying and watching)

- Module three: Species of Plants of brushwood of the Cloudforest (studying and identifying)

- Module four: Nightly walk to observe the main species of nocturne butterflies and insects

- Module five: Main species of trees (studying and observing)

- Module six: Main species of diurnal butterflies and insects (studying and identifying)

- Module seven: Amphibians and reptiles of the Cloudforest

- Module eight: Plants and flowers, with particular reference to orchids, bromelis and heliconias

Each course will be held by teacher at university level and last one day.

Ecotourism Policies

I describe our policy in a simple language, avoiding the philosophical approach.

We give a little contribution to environmental conservation with about 100ha of primary forest, placing it at disposal of people that can enjoy it.

We help to demonstrate that nature can also be a source of profit when respected and protected.

Other people are becoming involved in this idea and now there are 500 protected hectares.

We want to promote the Environmental Education to everyone especially among young people.
