Ecotourism Society Pakistan (ESP) is a group of professionals, dedicated to the cause of integrated tourism research and poor people living in mountain areas.
ESP mainly concentrates on problem-oriented multidisciplinary field research in tourism, distributes literature on tourism and offers consultancy.
ESP also offers ecotours all over Pakistan for families, researchers, students and scholars providing them in depth knowledge about culture, heritage and people of mountains. It also promotes small stakeholders in the field of tourism by promoting their products through ESP networking.
Special rates are offered for groups comprising of more than 10 persons. One ESP member will also accompany group along with another professional guide for better interaction and services. Honey Moon trips are developed for the promotion of domestic tourism in Pakistan and they are subsidized for ESP members. Rate are different for Non-members.
ESP can also liaison with district administration, government officials, local leadership and other government agencies if needed by group for any research work. Briefings about traditions, political system, history and culture of visited area by local elders can also be arranged on demand. ESP will not charge extra payment for these services.
ESP is trying to follow basic rules of ecotourism in operation of these tours. They are planned for providing maximum benefits to local people. Therefore, local drivers, porters and agents are hired. ESP will also try to provide local food prepared under the supervision of its experts for following hygiene standards. These tours will help local people of remote mountain areas get their share out of tourism activities.
Costing has been done on no-profit and no-lose basis therefore rates are the best comparing to rates offered by other tour operators. ESP has also contacted local accommodation providers instead of using accommodations of big chains.
