Tao engages with local communities to offer you the best in conscientious travel; audacious exploration, dreamy relaxation, teeming jungles, rugged mountains, diving, hiking, island-hopping, city-life… and all of this in support of real Filipinos in real Filipino villages.

Explore over 500 Islands in 2 to 4 weeks on our Bangka Boat. We chose the Palawan route as the main course for our expedition as it offers a great diversity of natural marvels. This route will take you on an amazing journey where you will experience real island living, visit the locals, discover the underwater world of corals and wrecks, stunning beaches, calm lakes, wild jungle trails and colourful villages.

Tao offers a spiritual experience in an isolated paradise- there are hundreds of island calling.

The Bangka is a traditional design of boat, common in the waters of the Philippines, used widely for fishing and transporting between islands. It is a long, slender banana-shaped vessel with two extended stabilizers that give it strength in changeable tropical waters. The Bangka design has not changed since the first migration of the Malays nearly 1000 years ago. This is undoubtedly the ideal boat to explore the islands.

There are up to 5 crew-members on each trip, including a chef and a native spa therapist. The crew is local to Palawan, with extensive knowledge of the country and its waters. Filipinos are world-renowned as skilled, efficient sailors and are also famous for their hospitality and generosity. Our crew provides an authentic sample of Filipino culture, history, environmentalism and politics.

Eco-policies:

Taos founder, Eddie Agamos Brock, is an experienced traveller and a native Filipino. He understands the difficulties faced in preserving the cultures, identities and environment of the Philippines.

The Philippines is a country generally disregarded as a tourist destination, therefore its diverse cultures and phenomenal natural heritage remain - largely - unspoiled. Tao wants to give Filipinos a voice on how tourism affects their country. Tao wants to raise awareness among Filipinos and tourists alike, to set up projects that will benefit all without destroying the social and ecological fabric of the country. Tao wants its travellers to rediscover the power of travel by getting involved with the Filipino communities they will visit, to appreciate and respect the environment they will explore. We wish to introduce small groups of considerate travelers to the spiritual rewards of the country. All of this is possible.
