We offer a whole variety of adventure holidays and tailor-made itineraries to suit all tastes. Andean Trails has 7 years of experience of organising tours in South America and we are truly Andean specialists. Speak to Kathy, Chris or Tom in the office, all of whom have a wealth of local knowledge, having spent many years living and working in South America.

We offer trekking in the Cordilleras of highland Peru, the Cordillera Blanca, Vilcanota and Huayhuash and also the world famous Inca Trail to the enigmatic Machu Picchu. Join our mountaineering course, take a train across the altiplano, study Spanish in Cusco or volunteer in a kids home.

A trip to one of our Amazon ecolodges or on a camping trip will take you deep into the heart of Peru's most amazing wildlife rich national parks, with the opportunity to see giant river otters, macaws, tapir, and even the elusive jaguar.

In Ecuador cruise the exotic Galapagos islands rich in wildlife, climb snow-capped volcanoes and trek through stunning high mountain scenery. Improve your mountaineering skills on one of our 3 day courses - follow it up by climbing one of the world's highest active volcanoes in the company of experienced, qualified local guides.

Experience ancient Bolivian cultures and colourful peoples on our Bolivian Highlights tours, crossing the stunning white Uyuni salt lakes on a 4 day jeep tour, trek through the Royal range, visit our eco-lodge in the Amazon jungle. For tailor-made itineraries, languages courses and volunteer opportunities contact our office.

Patagonia offers trekking trips, through Torres del paine in Chile, Los Glaciares national park in Argentina, treks through Tierra del Fuego and the superb adventure of our 9 day South Patagonian Ice Field expedition.

Cuba offers the chance to improve you Spanish and salsa dancing, or to trek through the historically important Sierra Maestra mountains.

Guyana is land of pristine rainforest and abundant wildlife. A little known country with few visitors, Guyana's lush interior, criss-crossed by a myriad of rivers and cascading waterfalls, consists of vast forests of virgin rainforest, and far-stretching savannahs.

Guyana is the perfect spot for real off the beaten-track rainforest trekking and wildlife adventures.

Ecotourism Policies

All Andean Trails activities are governed by our high respect for the environment and the people who live in it. We aim to make a positive impact both in the UK and in the countries we work in.

We agree with the principals of sustainable development and specifically promote environmentally aware tourism in the Andean countries, in order to preserve the heritage of the people who live there and to help protect their environment.

Economic Responsibility.

Throughout Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Guyana, Cuba, Patagonia, Chile and Argentina we work together with local people, paying them a fair price, and putting money into the local economy. We do this by using local agents, local trek staff and experienced and qualified local mountain and cultural guides who have an in-depth knowledge of their own country.

We use locally owned services such as hotels and restaurants, paying a fair price for those services. We buy fresh local produce for all of our treks from markets and small shops in each departure town. In preference we choose local over imported goods. We use public transport whenever possible and feasible.

We are committed to working in conjunction with local communities in all the countries in which we operate.

Environmental Responsibility.

In the UK we use recyclable and recycled materials when possible. We recycle what we can and attempt to keep waste to an absolute minimum. We promote paper saving by using email as much as possible and by keeping unwanted mail to a minimum. We use low-energy light bulbs, fair-trade and biodegradable products where possible.

We are involved in on-going training of the staff we work with in the UK and in the Andes to ensure as high as possible standards of environmental care and responsible behaviour. When we introduce a new tour we always consider its environmental impact, and try to reduce this impact to a minimum.
